NEVER TRUST ANYONE!
A part of the city, which has remained busy since ages, saw Sarah and Jake together almost since five years. Their dating life started in college. Common interests in music and art helped inject into the relationships between them. Many nights were spent by them in live concert events and local galleries. Such memories seemed almost indelible.
Still, cracks began to surface in the relationship by their late twenties. Sarah was employed by a respected organization, which demanded long hours and intense commitment. Meanwhile Jake was an aspiring musician finding it impossible to position himself in the world. With Sarah’s start coming good at work, stagnant development found itself resentful of Jake.
Not all was well when Sarah started missing date nights with her boyfriend. She used to come late in the evening; fulfilled all her commitments and left Jake to pine and pine for her as if she were unhappy over leaving him hanging in the air. He tried to be a supportive and understanding friend but got hurt instead of talking about how he felt. He drowned in music and composed bases of loneliness and frustration.
It became superficial, and the most surprising point was that the laughter and the deeper bonding became ages behind. They were discussing their days but in fact hesitated to discuss the deeper issues on account of the fear that lay beneath. Sarah and Jake’s friends knew about the change, but it was enough for both them to dismiss concerns as a phase that would pass.
