An Evening to Remember: Last Day of the Year
This last evening will culminate events of the entire year; it is sunset on December 31. People find some sort of magical effect attached to that evening of December 31-the nostalgia for whatever has passed through the year just gone by, hope about what awaits this coming year, and how everything is finally in place-a street light out, hearts get warmed up and resolutions take form.
A Review of the Year
Quiet candlelight moments set the mood for reflection on evening hours. Like individuals, families, and friends ponder all high points in the year’s progress: achievements, setbacks, and lessons learned. Photo albums and journals come out, replete with stories of growth. The time to say goodbye makes it worth it because finally, memories will start setting the course of life.
Celebrate in the Air
As dusk gathers, the whole world becomes a canvas of festival colors. Cities shine with all hues and lights of decorative firecrackers dot the evening sky. Big parties are to be held here or quiet dinners at home-whichever it may be, there is that zing of excitement and gaiety. Music and laughter can be heard and delectable feasts on tables denote the abundance and good fortune in the New Year.
